ECOFIN (Economic and Financial Committee)
DPSIMUN 2026 presents the Economic and Financial Committee, where the world’s money does the talking! With debt, inflation, and financial crises on the line, delegates will negotiate under pressure and make the calls that decide whether economies sink or swim.
The Economic and Financial Affairs Council(ECOFIN) is one of the six main committees of the UN General Assembly.Founded in 1945 and is composed of all the 193 Member states of the United Nations. It seeks to play an important role by managing financial crises, promoting sustainable integrated economic development and stability as well as guiding fiscal policies.
In Line with the conference theme, '"Engineering Stability In an Age of Volatility†ECOFIN seeks to examine how the European Union can respond to an increasingly uncertain global economic environment such as financial market volatility , economic risks and geopolitical conflicts leading to lack of security in global supply chains.By using collaborative policy solutions that strengthen financial resilience and promote long term economic stability.
